My favorite show is "The Amazing Race." Aside from the competitive aspect, it's the wonderful locations the contestants visit that makes it a standout. And while I won't be bungee jumping off the highest point or unrolling bales of hay for a clue, I will be taking 84 days to navigate through various cultures and lands.
This blog will chronicle the preparation before and experiences during my trip around the world. Because I have a boss who appreciates that life is not just working behind a desk, I have the opportunity to work virtually and as I travel the globe, from the Cook Islands to the east coast of the USA.
And while that limits me to more mainstream destinations, it will still allow me to push the boundaries of normal travel (for Americans, anyway) at a time in my life when I am past the post-college "gap year."
So as Phil says at the start of every new race, "The world is waiting for you. Good luck. Travel safe. GO!"
